Bear Lake at the Rowlands

Sawyer and I took a quick trip over to Bear Lake to meet up with Katie, Hillary, Grandma and the kids. Sawyer had never been to Bear Lake before so we thought it was a great idea. We all just hung out and let the kids play in the kid pool. It was very relaxing and the kids loved it.

Silly boys!

Sawyer loves his new hat.

Playing with the boat, Olivia and Mia..

Just being kids.

How sweet is this picture of all holding hands. The boys and their hats. Cheese!!!

I decided they needed to go fishing.

Lets face it! They loved catching seaweed! It was hilarious!Silly kids waiting to watch a movie together. They really do play so well together. Love you kiddos!

Thanks Katie for letting us come play. We had so much fun and can't wait to come again.

4th of July 2010

This 4th of July was full of activities that started on the 3rd. It seemed weird to me but the Pocatello parade was actually on Sunday the 4th, so Casey invited us to go with her family to the Inkom parade on the 3rd. It was so much fun and way bigger than I expected. One thing I love about the parades in Idaho is they still throw candy. It's like Halloween in the summer! Who wouldn't like that!!

Sawyer in one of his shirts from Jennifer (waiting for the candy). Isn't it festive and adorable! Thanks Jenn!!
The kids all looked great in their red, white and blue. Here they are waiting for the parade to start. Thanks again Casey for having us along. Precious boys!!!Sawyer and Tessa. Isn't she a cutie.I thought this picture was hilarious. It looks like they are going to get run over by the tractor.I call this a white trash float. To funny! After the parade, Casey wanted to take Sawyer up to see the ponies. Sawyer has never been around horses so he was excited. Thanks Casey for being so good to our little guy.
We headed into Inkom for the activities for the kids. They had a train ride, bouncies, fishing for live goldfish, watermelon eating contests, bands and all sorts of fun things.

All smiles in the bouncy. They loved the train ride.
On Saturday evening we headed to Lewiston Utah to watch a Rodeo. Casey's husband and a couple family members were in the rodeo. It was also the first time Sawyer has been on a horse. He loved it!!!

On Sunday morning we woke up and headed to the Pocatello parade. We met up with the Schrade Family which is always fun. Sawyer loves these girls and Mark and I really enjoy visiting with Chris and Jennifer.

As you can see Sawyer is in another shirt from Jenn. This one is one of his favorites.

Sawyer and the girls watching the parade.Group shot.Don't they all look so cute! Sawyer really does fit in with these girls since his hair is so light. This is one fun bunch of kids.In the afternoon, I decided to take Sawyer up to the fairgrounds to ride a couple rides. They set up rides and vendors every year since the fireworks show is so amazing. Airplane ride.More flying time! For the evening we headed over to Casey's house for a BBQ and horse roping and riding. It was a blast. Sawyer found a new little friend, He is always pondering something it seems.I love this picture!Sawyer's first horse ride. And with a cute girl I must add.Off into the sunset!Casey was teaching me how to ride. I had a blast! Mark took this picture of Casey and I. We think it's pretty!Sawyer loved the horses. Watching and riding them. This was one busy weekend but we had so much fun. Thank you so much Casey for letting us join your family in all their activities. Not only did we have fun at the parade, and riding horses but meeting new people and seeing new places. Jennifer, thank you for the shirts and for joining us for the Pocatello parade. Everyone who was a part of this weekend, Thank you! WE HAD A BLAST!!!

Swimming Lessons with Kari

Thanks to my good friend Casey, Sawyer was able to get into private swimming lessons this summer. Mark and I were both thinking it was the best time to start teaching him. He is a little nervous when it comes to being in pools. Since we don't have a tub, he has a very limited amount of time with his head, eyes, nose, and well everything under the water. We both think that Sawyer learning to swim is so important. The earlier the better.

Sawyer loves his teacher. Her name is Kari and she does an amazing job. She and Sawyer had a natural connection. Sawyer trusted her from the beginning. We couldn't be more happy.Sawyer is practicing floating on his back in this picture. Your back is your "safe spot". In this spot you can float, breath, call for help and ultimately save your life.Kari is very good about explaining to Sawyer why he is learning to swim. Here they are talking about safety. You can see Boedy and Tessa on the steps just waiting for their lesson. They're up after Sawyer.Play time on the steps. Sawyer is practicing his kicking and bubbles with Tessa.

Sawyer's first lesson was a little rough. He cried a little and was nervous to go under the water. It didn't take him long to start enjoying his lessons. You can see in this video, he jumps in by himself and rolls to his back. This was taken on his 4th lessons. Awesome job Sawyer!!!

Thanks Kari for teaching our precious boy how important it is to know how to swim. We couldn't be happier with his progress in such a short amount of time.

Aviation Day

OK, so we all know how much Sawyer loves Airplanes. He loves everything about them. Riding on them, the airport, the sounds, and everything associated with flight. When I saw that the airport in Pocatello was having Aviation Day, Mark and I were so excited. We just knew Sawyer was going to love it. Plus they were giving helicopter rides which we have never done. Let's just say we couldn't wait!!! I really wanted Sawyer to have an all out Aviation
day, so I asked my supervisor if I could bring him to work for a flight. She is AWESOME and said YES.

Here they are eating lunch together in the backroom. Thanks Beth for letting Sawyer see what goes on behind the scenes. Your the best!!! Mark and Sawyer waiting for the Helicopter ride.
Sawyer was really excited about the fire truck.

This was his favorite helicopter. It was huge if you can't tell.

Sawyer wasn't nervous at all getting inside with this military guy. He actually flies this helicopter and was telling Sawyer all about it. Beth and I just laughed as they chatted.
All smiles in the back of the helicopter. I'm pretty sure he's going to be a pilot or do something with Aeronautics.

Daddy and Sawyer enjoying the ride.

It was a great view from the front seat.

This is a video of a World War II airplane getting ready to take off. Watch how cool the wings are as they lower. This was one of my favorite planes.

What an AMAZING day we all had. The helicopter ride was so much fun. Sawyer talked about it for an entire week. I love listening to him talk about it. All the airplanes, and helicopters that were there for show were so cool. It really was a day we will never forget.
